Henry James (1912-1987) lived most of his life in the Cornish village of Calstock in the Tamar Valley. During his retirement he made copious notes on his personal observations of life in a bygone age, which we are endeavouring to bring to life. This small book, which tells of a couple of his adventures as a youngster arriving in a village from New York City, contains hard facts and his personal opinions. Not a book for the serious historian, more for someone wanting to put some colour into the history books.
