URANIUM GLASS
Dave Naylor will bring some of his collection of uranium glass ornaments. From the late 18th century uranium was used to make a vivid green glass for ornamental use. There were several sources of uranium in Cornwall, including Gunnislake Old Mine

DUTIES OF THE LORD LIEUTENANT OF CORNWALL
Mark Thomas held the role while actively farming. He said that he was privileged to be a member of the Prince's Council, which provides advice to the Duke of Cornwall with regard to the management of the Duchy. He then became High Sheriff and is now Deputy Lieutenant.

VICTORIAN PLYMOUTH
Chris Robinson MBE is a third generation Plymothian who has been capturing the local area in words, pictures, books and films since opening his first shop on the Barbican in 1978. His lavishly illustrated Victorian Plymouth talk will take us on a photographic tour of the Three Towns. (Plymouth, Stonehouse and Devonport) embracing some of the earliest images we have of the pre-blitzed city and providing a fascinating insight into nineteenth century society.
