The Bible in English
It is exactly 500 years since Tyndale translated the Bible from Latin in 1526.
Member Mark Pellow will talk to us about how the Bible came to us in English.
He is in possession of copies of various documents.

RICHARD III
Julie Ellis, one of our members, is Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Richard III Society.
She will talk on the life and times of Richard III.

TAVISTOCK'S WORKHOUSES
Nicole Gurr will speak about the three workhouses in Tavistock and the harsh conditions, from the first one established in 1747 to the last one established in 1837 following the 1834 Poor Law Act.

DANESCOMBE PAPER MILL 1788 TO 1861
The well preserved remains of Danescombe Paper Mill which was built in 1788 by a prominent Plymouth businessman still stand after nearly 250 years.
Alastair Tinto will trace its ownership and the people who worked there and discuss the papermaking processes that were used.
