Albaston Cemetery Chapel Project

We are delighted to be able to report that Calstock Parish Council was successful in its application for LEADER funding for conversion of the building to make it suitable to house the archive and for public use.   Essential building works, provision of an accessible toilet and upgrading of the electrical installation are in progress.

Fundraising

Now that moving the archive to Albaston Cemetery Chapel has become a reality, we are working on a programme to furnish and equip our new home.  Grants and donations have been sought for specific items, such as floor covering, which had to be installed before anything else arrived, and additional storage cabinets to hold a large quantity of material which could not be accommodated in our previous overcrowded accommodation.  We continue to need support to cover the higher running costs of the old chapel building and add to its facilities.

PLEASE NOTE
BT closed their MyDonate facility, which we have used on this website, on 30 June 2019.    We have signed up with VirginMoneyGiving to provide an alternative donation facility.

Donations to the archive can also be made by cheque payable to Calstock Parish Archive Trust or by bank transfer or by visiting the archive.
Please email enquiries@calstockhistory.co.uk for further details.

We were fortunate indeed to have been chosen by Coop Community Fund as one of the local causes they would support during the past 12 months.    The money they raised is a magnificent addition to our funding for the project to refurbish Albaston Cemetery Chapel to provide a home for the archive and a community space.  Many thanks to all our supporters at the Coop.

The White Hart Inn at Chilsworthy changed hands in 2017.  New owners Amy and Ian are working hard to build up their business and support the community..   They have been holding fund raising events for local causes and we were delighted to pay them a visit and be presented with a donation.  We took the opportunity to sample their fayre and thoroughly enjoyed our excellent meal.

We recently received a cheque from BoilerJuice.  Many thanks to all their customers who nominated Calstock Parish Archive as the local charity they would like the BoilerJuice Community Fund  to support when ordering their heating oil.  Nominating a charity does not add to what you pay for your heating oil.
